Harp Performance and Instruction

Pheobe Madison Schrafft
Los Angeles, California.

Pheobe’s Story

With strong foundations in classical and Celtic compositions, Pheobe attended Berklee College of Music in Boston and deepened her training in pop, jazz, and contemporary repertoire.

Artistically, she relies upon improvisation and arranging, through which she breathes new life into traditional pieces, showcasing the ancient instrument’s adaptability, both subtle and intricate, to contemporary music forms.

Pheobe has on-screen feature film experience, including Terrence Malick’s Knight of Cups (2015) and the screen adaptation of Joan Anderson’s Year By The Sea (2016).

Gifted, gracious, grateful.

Pheobe is dedicated to the harp, to her students and to her clients.

I love performing,

“I particularly value the opportunity to perform in beautiful settings, and Los Angeles has such a range to offer, from the picturesque Storrier-Stearns Japanese gardens of Pasadena to historic Greystone Manor of Beverly Hills.”

and I love teaching.

“The harp is a very special and complex instrument that requires a high level of skill. I’ve learned from years of providing (as well as receiving) harp instruction, one size will certainly not fit all. Students differ in age, experience, focus and goals, so I customize each lesson course to fit individual needs.”

Without exception, mastering proper harp technique is the foundation. It enables and empowers each student to find their own path, to branch out into a unique musical direction.
